Spindletop Spin Bike Ride

Area Cycling Eventsspindletopspin writes "Approaching its seventh year, the impact of the Spindletop Spin continues to exceed our expectations. This cycling adventure is one of the most successful events in Southeast Texas.

The Spindletop Spin will kick off with four routes on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 7:00 AM with hundreds of riders from across Texas and Louisiana lined up under the Crockett Street arch.

The bicycling adventure features 16, 27, 53 and 100 mile routes for the avid cyclist to the amateur rider.

OTC & Non OTC MeetingsRAGE-N-NUGGET writes "We will be holding the annual banquet this year at the Coffee Memorial Blood Center meeting area. We ask that you bring a side dish or desert, and the meat will be provided by the club. Come hang out with your fellow cyclist and eat some grub! We will have Canari fit kits available, for the OTC cycling kits,  to try on and place orders at the meeting. All who sign up for memberships or renew will receive a pair of OTC socks! We will be posting in the near future about OTC board member elections, and if you would like to step up and volunteer time to the club please do so! If you use this website please pay your dues to the club! $ is a huge contribution to keeping the club and website rolling! Let's all hook up and promote cycling in our community and ride our butts off this year!

Cavern City Classic - April 21 & 22, 2012

strumster writes "The Cavern City Classic Bicycle Race will be held on April 21 and 22, 2012. The Carlsbad Velo Bicycle Team and our sponsors Best Western Stevens, the Fairfield Inn and Keep Carlsbad Beautiful are partnering with the United Way by hosting the race.  This will be the first year that Carlsbad will be hosting a bicycle race that is sanctioned by USA Cycling (USAC).  The event is part of the New Mexico Bicycle Racing Association Series for 2012. Refer to the flyer on our website for information about the courses,  details about pre-registration and entry fees.  There is no entry fee for Juniors 16 and under racing in the Junior race but all participants must have an annual or one-day USAC license.  For more information: go to www.carlsbadvelocyclingclub.com or contact Steve Kouba via email at velookie@hotmail.com or call 302-3242."
